About PortAI™: Supply Chain Decision Intelligence

PortAI™  brings operations research and applied AI to supply chain decision-making through supply chain decision intelligence. Our flagship software, Global Transportation & Routing Optimization, helps teams compare routing alternatives and understand the tradeoffs between transportation cost and transit time.

We also offer scoped projects in network design, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and Fleet & Transportation Optimization, including fleet planning, using the analytical method that best fits each problem.

Our goal is to help supply chain teams understand the tradeoffs behind a decision before they commit to a plan.

We work with midmarket companies, enterprise supply chain teams, and logistics consultants.

Why We Built Supply Chain Decision Intelligence

Supply chain teams must make decisions about routing, network structure, inventory, and service—often with competing objectives and incomplete information. We built PortAI™ to help teams compare alternatives, understand the tradeoffs, and explain the reasoning behind their recommendations.

Our Approach

● Business-First
Start with the decision that needs to be made, not the technology.

● Practical Optimization
Focus on usable recommendations, tradeoffs, and scenarios that support real operating decisions.

● Accessible Intelligence
Make advanced analytical capability easier to use without requiring enterprise-level complexity.

Founder

Rao Panchalavarapu, founder of PortAI™

Rao Panchalavarapu

Rao Panchalavarapu brings decades of experience in supply chain, analytics, optimization, and data science. His career has included roles at Amazon, Nordstrom, Schneider Logistics, Starbucks, and Walmart, where he worked on complex supply chain problems and analytical approaches to support business decisions.

His work connects operations research and data science with the practical questions supply chain teams face: how freight should move, how networks should be structured, how inventory should be managed, and how cost and service objectives should be balanced. He holds a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.

Rao founded PortAI™ to make advanced analytical methods more accessible and useful to the teams responsible for these decisions. PortAI™ combines that experience with mathematical optimization and applied AI to help teams compare alternatives, understand tradeoffs, and develop recommendations they can explain to the business.
